What to Expect at Your Pet's Groom
If you have not been here before, this is how a visit runs from the first call to pick-up.
From First Call to Pick-Up

You call or text
Tell me your pet's breed, roughly when they were last groomed, and anything I should know: they hate the dryer, they are deaf, they do not like their back feet touched. Appointments are one at a time, so the slot is yours. Dogs need to be under 40 lb at the moment.

Arrival and a look at the coat
We go through what you want before anything starts, and I check the coat's condition. If it is matted close to the skin I will say so then, not halfway through.

The groom, start to finish
Bath, dry and the haircut, plus nails, ears and a sanitary trim. Nobody is put back in a crate to wait. Pets who need to stop and breathe get to stop and breathe.

Pick-up
I call or text when your pet is ready. We talk through anything I noticed in the coat or skin, and a sensible gap before the next visit.

Vaccination details
Please have vaccinations up to date, and let me know if anything has lapsed.
Bites or fear
A history of snapping is not a reason to be turned away. Not knowing about it is.
Skip the home bath
A bath at home without a proper dry sets mats tighter. Come as you are.
Bring a photo
A picture of a cut you like settles the question faster than any description.
About Matted Coats
Where a coat is badly matted, the humane option is to clip it short rather than brush it out. Brushing out a tight mat pulls on skin for as long as it takes, and grooming a matted coat can reveal skin problems that were hidden underneath. I will always talk to you about it before I proceed.
