Thirty Years of Coats and Temperaments
When Linda Thornley started A Decked Out Pet, Inc. here in North Providence, she wanted to move away from the busy shop model. After three decades in the industry she had seen firsthand that pets thrive when they feel safe, heard and focused on.
Over those years she has groomed just about every coat type, temperament and age there is: wire coats, double coats, doodle coats that mat if you look at them wrong, elderly dogs who cannot stand for long, and pets who arrive already frightened.
Why I Went Fully One-on-One
During Covid I had to groom one pet at a time, and the effect on the dogs really got me. They were calmer, easier to handle and happier at pick-up. That is why I made the choice to work exclusively one-on-one.
No other dogs barking, no dryers running in the next bay, and no queue building behind your appointment. The person you speak to is the person who grooms your pet.
Gentle Hands for Seniors, Puppies and Nervous Pets
I specialize in senior pets, puppies and those who might feel a bit nervous about the process. I do not believe in a standard approach, so every session is tailored to your pet's coat and comfort. Right now the salon takes small and medium dogs up to 40 lb, plus cats.
If a coat is too matted to brush out safely, I will tell you before I start, and we will decide together what is fair to the pet.
